Gario and Bario bros is based off the engine from Super Mario on the NES. This flash game has awesome vector graphics and really smooth controls. This is one of the best Mario clones / remake online. So what needs to be done? Eat mushrooms, kill the things by jumping on them and burn stuff with fireballs. Arrows to walk; A to Run or Shoot; S to Jump.
